HardKote is hard, very hard and is formulated for the best protection over tiles and floors.

That being said, lets understand the nature of coatings in general, a hardwearing coating does not replace a baked ceramic tile, it is designed to enhance newly laid floors where tiles are not in fact laid but a screed takes the place of tiles, now a screed is made up of an aggregate mixed with a binder and smoothed over a concrete or tiled floor. When you decide you want a screed, please remember, you need to respect the nature of that screed. You cannot build motorcycle engines on the floor and drag furniture and fridges over the floor and not expect to suffer damage.

Imagine you drop a hammer on a ceramic tile, what do you expect? A cracked or badly chipped tile, that is pure logic, and a ceramic tile is extremely hard. now the difference with HardKote is it is simple to repair, just sand lightly and brush a new coat over the damaged area. HardKote is formulated to be partly flexible to absorb impact as well as withstand lots of traffic.

So when we say this is a hard coating, it is but needs respect and understanding of all coatings.
